A fresh start for No-Nonsense Money Talk with Karen Chan

Beginning in October, this blog will become the focus of my financial education efforts. Up to this point, in-person presentations and webinars have been my main educational vehicle. But it’s time for that to change.

I hope that you will subscribe to the blog and that you will find my posts helpful. As always, my goal is to help you make wiser decisions with your money.

My plan is to post once a week, although there may be some variation – more frequent posts from time to time or a week without anything. As a blog subscriber, you will receive an email when each post goes up. In addition, you will receive a newsletter from me about once every 6 weeks that will highlight recent posts and provide other updates.  If you’d prefer less email, you can subscribe to just the Newsletter (instead of the blog) on the Contact Karen page.

This month (September), I will begin a series of posts based on one of my favorite workshop topics, Getting the Most from Your Retirement Savings. Over time, we’ll cover things like RMD rules, Qualified Charitable Distributions, and Roth conversions. In October, I’ll focus on Medicare choices – the initial decisions you make at age 65, and the decisions that you make each year about Advantage or Prescription Part D coverage.

If you have a suggestion for a topic you’d like to see me cover, please send that to me using the Contact Karen page.

I’ll see you here again next week, and we’ll start getting down to business with personal finance.

Karen
